I inhale the complicated world around me and respond to it with my art. I distill nature I experience, mainly birds and flowers spotted in Homer, Alaska to their essence and express their Chi, or breath of life, through my brush strokes. I then build layers of Chinese brushwork, decorative paper, and acrylics to reflect their complexity.
