Connected
Do we carry more than genes? Do we carry memory, resilience, and hope too?
Each DNA sculpture traces a woman’s maternal line. Some hold no images, reflecting lost histories or a lack of access to cameras. I chose eight women, a number symbolizing harmony and continuity, to reflect both our community and global roots.
Their stories explore epigenetics, immigration, identity, and intergenerational connection. Like the hidden roots of an aspen grove, we are all connected across time, place, and experience.
I am deeply grateful to these women. Their stories invite us to remember, reflect, and cultivate greater compassion for one another.
